Woodgreen 002: Enter The Other Blond
After cleaning up and rearranging (and redesigning because of one Pansy Parkinson) the whole day, the four prefects finally walked out of their headquarters for the year glaring and arguing with each other. From a distance, the foursome were very colorful. The brunette with bushy hair looked peeved and seemed ready to strangle a dark-haired human leech clinging to the redhead with an even redder face, who was currently in the middle of a hissing fit with a very pale and pointy-faced blond.
“You let go of Ron, right now! Parkinson, there is a rule against indecent public display!”
And just because of that, the girl named Parkinson slipped her right hand inside the redhead’s backpocket, getting a good feel of one cheek.
“Parkinson!” Ron whipped his head and glared at the girl clinging to his arm. Parkinson only smiled sweetly before pulling her hand out but used it to secure herself once more to his arm.
The pointy blond groaned in remorse, no doubt cursing the fact that he would have to be with all three for most of the whole year. He tried to take leave the group behind and took longer strides but Ron yanked him by the back of his collar. “What?” He hissed and hit the hand off his back.
“Make use of your two hands and pry off your girlfriend from my side!”
As it were, it did look like Ron’s left arm was losing blood circulation. As expected, Malfoy did not look inclined to help if only out of principle in making Weasley’s life difficult and preferably unbearable. “I don’t quite see my girlfriend anywhere within the vicinty.”
Parkinson raised her eyebrows at Malfoy, which he seemed oblivious of or simply chose not to notice. As of the rumor mill the previous year, Parkinson and Malfoy were going out but it seemed the romance had ended judging from her reaction alone.
“Since when?” That was Hermione, looking just as surprised as Parkinson.
“Since now,” Malfoy spoke as if he was talking about the weather then his eyes turned hard and cold as he glared at his now ex-girlfriend. “You obviously like to touch this despicable creature and I will not have those same hands touch me,” Malfoy spat each word venomously.
“Despicable?” Weasley snarled and took a step closer to the blond. This time, two more hands grabbed his other arm. Both girls were now in silent agreement to stop a possible brawl.
It was at this point that Naruto Uzumaki chose to make his appearance known. If they were in his old town, he would call Ron his “hokage“, a title for the leader of the school. It was rather appropriate in his opinion. The hierarchy was more pronounced in his old school, and respect was earned through a fistfight. In this school, however, a fistfight would warrant suspension or some other sort of punishment which Ron and Malfoy were known for — at least according to his friends who had been studying in Woodgreen since they were little.
Anyone with a history like that and could still maintain a decent mark to become one of Woodgreen’s prefects automatically earned Naruto’s respect. Not to mention he had seen a fistfight with Ron in it. Being on a constant bout with a rich kid as arrogant and as decidingly a bastard as Naruto’s own best friend only brought fondness in Naruto’s eyes.
He casually walked towards the small group and bumped Weasley’s side which happened to be where Parkinson was; hard enough that she fell over. He grabbed her wrist to stop her from falling face first then picked up his bags before looking at his hokage. “Hey,” he greeted with a grin.
“Hey,” Ron returned the grin then a look of surprise caught his features. “You’re early. Students aren’t expected to start moving in until next week. Bad summer?”
“You can say that,” Naruto snorted then smiled when he saw the look of concern from those blue eyes. “It’s been getting better, though. Besides, it’s free food and lodging here. Who am I to resist?”
“Naruto Uzumaki. All talent, no brains.” Malfoy sneered then added as an afterthought, “Poor, too.”
“Shove off, Malfoy.” Ron beat Naruto in shutting Malfoy up. And just like that, his attention was gone as he entered another row with the bastard.
Naruto nodded to the two girls in acknowledgement and left the gathering. If he had the chance, he would have punched the snotty bastard. It was a good time, too, because none of these prefects could punish him until school officially began. But he didn’t want to get into a fight this early. He simply wanted to stop the rumble that would no doubt have both girls as black and blue as Ron and Malfoy. If it were just the two boys, he might even watch and enjoy the fight. The girls weren’t strong enough to stop Ron if he wasn’t going to hold back and if he did hold back, Malfoy would have an upper hand.
“He’s wearing orange!”
“It’s not a bad color!”
“What do you know about color, Weasley. You have an obsession with orange!”
He could still hear the tail end of their last argument and he had to laugh outloud. He looked at the bulletin board to see who his prefect would be. Satisfied with what he saw, he turned his head to find the blond looking his way in disgust so he gave the asshole a smug smirk.
