Woodgreen 001: That Summer

Two weeks before the start of the year…

Ron dropped the heavy box as soon as he entered the door and pushed it the rest of the way with his foot. “Tell me again why we’re the only ones here? And Malfoy, get up and help me with the boxes! Let Hermione work on those!”

“Who do you think you’re talking to, Weasley?” Draco rolled his eyes and just continued to sort through the paperwork on the desk.

Hermione sighed and stopped shelving the books to look at the two boys in their office. She could not imagine what the rest of the year would be like with those two in one room at least once a week. “Because we’re prefects, Ron. Prefects are called in early to make sure all the schedules and classrooms and dorm assignments are accounted for. Other than we need to see who and what we’re in charge of.”"

“Thank you,” Draco gave an exaggerated sigh of relief, “even if it’s coming from you and…”

“Shut it, Malfoy.” Hermione glared. The intensity of her glare was amplified by the fact that Ron was towering behind her, arms folded and glowering at Malfoy as well.

Just then, Pansy walked in and leaned against Ron. She ran her hand on his chest and smirked at him, watching as the tall boy visibly cringed. “Hmmm… amazing what summer did to your body. Too much hard labor has its perks, I guess.”

“Paws off, Parkinson,” Hermione hissed.

“My, my… aren’t we a little possessive.” Pansy winked at Hermione before continuing, “But last I heard, you broke up with the adorable bear.” And to emphasize her point, she hugged Ron and snuggled against the warm body.

“Pansy, have some taste,” Draco drawled, eyeing both Ron and Pansy with disapproval.

The glaring contest ensued from four directions.

This was what Eikichi Onizuka walked in on and he couldn’t help but grin. School was going to be fun.
